Conclurry, Majestic In Talks

Cloncurry Mining said yesterday it had started discussions with Majestic Resources NL about a possible merger of their respective interests in the Cloncurry area of Queensland. Cloncurry, the owner of the Great Australia copper mine, said that no assurance could be given that a merger would be concluded.

But it noted that ``significant synergies" might be achievable.

Majestic has numerous exploration interests in the Cloncurry area, some of which could become additional ore sources for the Great Australia mine.
